COBIT is een best-practice aanpak waarbij diverse IT-standaarden in één model worden vervat, het legt relaties tussen de informatietechnologie en de beheersingsvraagstukken van organisaties.

Na het foundation examen kan je jezelf specialiseren in twee richingen; implementer of assesor. In deze module COBIT 5 Assessor wordt een basis gelegd voor doorlichten van organisatieprocessen volgens het COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM). Op basis van meetbare resultaten wordt getracht op een betrouwbare, consistente en herhaalbare wijze IT processen en hun mogelijkheden in kaart te brengen. Het model helpt het management bij het bereiken van een C-level (Chief niveau) met betrekking tot verandermanagement en het nemen van verbeteringsmaatregelen. Door assessment worden procesmogelijkheden vastgesteld en risico’s geïnventariseerd waardoor verbeteringsmaatregelen zijn te treffen.
